An Experience

Last year, I was able to gain a lot of experience around the topic of self-employment. Of course, there were a few setbacks along the way, but I learned from them for the future. Therefore, I’m looking forward to 2025 with excitement. My goal is to expand my repertoire of high-quality and useful microbiology courses and to focus more on the artistic aspect of microorganisms. Perhaps we’ll walk this path together.

About me

My path into the world of science may not have been entirely straightforward—but that’s precisely what made it so valuable. It took some time to find the right degree program for me, but I was finally able to successfully complete my studies in chemistry with a Master of Science degree.
My master’s thesis, in which I focused on optimizing real-time PCR (RT-PCR) for the quantification of bacteriophages in environmental samples, a fascinating topic that I completed with the top grade of 1.0 was particularly influential. Not only did I acquire in-depth knowledge of PCR technology, but I also learned a surprising amount about phages.
During my studies, I worked in a medical diagnostic laboratory in the field of microbiology without any prior experience, but with a great deal of curiosity and a willingness to learn. This intensive practical training significantly shaped my understanding of microbiological processes.
After graduating, I therefore consciously decided to pursue further training as a microbiologist and infectious disease epidemiologist. In this context, I was able to specifically deepen my knowledge, particularly in the areas of serology and molecular biological methods such as PCR.
Today, I look back on over 15 years of laboratory experience – and my fascination with microorganisms has never faded

ART

In addition to my passion for microbiology, I’ve always had a flair for art. Over the years in the lab, bacteria and fungi have increasingly captivated me.
I’ve not only studied them scientifically, but have also been able to photograph a wide variety of subjects on various culture media. Over time, I’ve captured many different facets. Microorganisms occasionally change their growth behavior and shape, thus continually offering new templates. I want to combine art and science in an interdisciplinary way and present microorganisms to you as small works of art.
